Al is a Wildwood Agile Learning Facilitator, Co-Director, and board member. Al has worked in a variety of educational settings and has always been inspired by self-direction and consent-based practices. They strive to build solidarity with youth, working towards collective liberation and community care. Al began unschooling in 2016 and joined the Wildwood community in 2018. As a facilitator, they aim to empower young people to pursue their interests and discover new passions. They strive to create an affirming space where all are free to express themselves authentically. Some of their interests include; edible and medicinal plants, insects, creating art, swimming, dancing, and personal acceptance and growth. They earned their degree in Elementary Education from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 2004 and hold a teaching license for grades K-6.
